Dear Friends,

I was back out there with my double-sided sign — early, energized, and hopeful. At 6:30 AM on May Day, about 30 of us stood above the morning traffic on the San Rafael Pedestrian Walkway. The stream of honks and waves from commuters reminded us we’re not alone — that solidarity is alive and well.

Later that day, I joined a spirited crowd of around 1,000 people in Santa Rosa’s Old Courthouse Square. The energy was strong, the messages clear, and the commitment real. Then, on Saturday, May 4, I rallied again — this time in the San Rafael Plaza, surrounded by a few hundred people (and quite a few babies and dogs). The mood was joyful but fierce — with homemade signs, music, community, and a shared sense of purpose.

I keep showing up because it feels right.
Because if no one stands up, Trump might assume we’re standing with him.
And I refuse to let him believe that for even a second.

One sign simply said “Agent Orange.” It made people laugh, but the truth beneath it isn’t funny. He’s steadily eroding our democracy — one act, one law, one norm at a time. Banning protest may sound extreme, but given the last 100 days, it wouldn’t be surprising. We’ve seen how far he’s willing to go.

If our presence feels threatening to him, he’ll call in the military. Not to protect peace, but to suppress it.

So we use our voices now — while we still can.
We show up together — while it’s still legal … and still FUN.
This is a race against time, and we need every runner we can get.

Peace & Love,
❤️ Jes
